Abstract

Ranula is the term given to a transparent cystic swelling in the floor of the mouth, especially as retention cysts in association with the ducts or acini of the submandibular and sublingual glands and the adjacent mucous glands.
Recently 21-year-old girl visited our clinic with a chief complaints of double wallnut sized swelling in the right side of mouth floor which was so huge that mild degree of speech disturbances was accompanied.
Marsupialization resulted in the eradication of the ranula. After operation, shrinkage over a two-week period was rapid, uneventful, and complete.
